A film based on The Penguins of Madagascar has been in production since 2005.

HistoryEdit

Production started in 2005, and had an expected release of 2009 as direct-to-DVD.^[1] Though, the film was never released. In March 2011, the film was announced to be back on track, as a feature film,^[2] and would be directed by Simon J. Smith, produced by Lara Breay, and written by Alan J. Schoolcraft and Brent Simons.^[3] Production will start in mid-2012 at DreamWorks Dedicated Unit.^[4]
