  • Fossa is pronounced /ˈfuːsə/ in the film, though written as "foosa" or "fousa" on the territory sign. The animators and writers decided to spell it differently than its actual spelling on purpose, to keep people from pronouncing it incorrectly. McGrath noted that the relationship between the fossa and lemurs, which the fossa mainly prey on, was "a little microcosm for predator-prey relationships."
